Job Description
The opportunity:
Fitness & Lifestyle Group is seeking a Regional Safety Advisor to help us maintain a safe and healthy environment for our employees, contractors, and members. In this key role, you'll lead the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of health and safety systems and practices across the region.
You'll also be responsible for conducting audits, ensuring H&S reporting is accurate and timely, and supporting compliance with internal procedures and relevant Workplace Health & Safety legislation and standards. If you're proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to making safety a top priority, we'd love to hear from you.
Key duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Assist with the implementation, maintenance and effectiveness of the FLG's Health and Safety Management System;
- Manage and maintain incident and hazard reporting systems, ensuring all incidents and hazards are logged, investigated, assessed, controlled and reviewed within the delegated timeframes;
- Take full ownership and accountability of all emergencies and notifiable incidents in your delegated State/region from end-to-end;
- Manage the Return to Work Process for injured workers in line with the relevant legislation;
- Conduct investigations of workplace incidents, injuries and club safety and lead with recommendations and implementing actions to correct any issues;
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for the completion of investigations or claims;
- Take full responsibility for the training and development of team members at all levels to ensure compliance and engagement;
- Complete audits and inspections in compliance with the agreed ANZ auditing program.
What you'll bring:
Essential:
- Relevant qualification or experience in HSE or in a related discipline;
- Multi-site experience, including implementation of WHS policies across a dispersed organisation;
- Knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment and control;
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice and standards applicable to the workplace, including any regulations.
Beneficial:
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate;
- Knowledge of current WHS legislation, as it applies to the Fitness industry;
- Return to Work certification (relevant to NSW) - highly regarded
