The opportunity:
We're looking for a skilled and self-driven Network Support Engineer to join our high-performing infrastructure team. If you thrive in complex networking environments, love solving problems, and want to make a real impact through both operational excellence and continuous improvement, this role is for you.
In this role, networking will be your primary focus, with a balance of:
- 60% BAU support - operational support, troubleshooting, and incident resolution
- 40% project & improvement work - network upgrades, optimization, and technology transitions
You'll play a key role in developing and implementing network solutions, contributing technical expertise to designs and capacity planning led by our Infrastructure Lead. Beyond networking, you'll collaborate across the wider infrastructure team, working on integrated systems such as telephony, CCTV, and access control.

Key duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Network Support & Float Duties
- Act as a flexible technical resource across network infrastructure, with secondary support for security, endpoints, telephony, and access control
- Support BAU network tasks, optimization initiatives, and internal projects
- Assist in system evaluations, upgrades, and patching where networking is impacted
- Build working knowledge across toolsets/environments to provide coverage during resourcing gaps
Service Desk Escalation & Network Ownership
- Serve as the primary escalation point for all network-related incidents raised by the Service Desk
- Guide and mentor Service Desk staff by providing advanced resolution paths
- Assist with reporting and communications during priority network-related outages/incidents
- Collaborate with the Service Desk to refine triage documentation and SOPs for recurring network issues
CCTV, Duress & IP Telephony Systems
- Provide network-related support and troubleshooting for IP-based CCTV, duress alert systems, and telephony platforms
- Assist in deployment, configuration, and handover activities for new sites or system changes
- Develop ownership of network dependencies for these systems over time
Project Support & Process Improvement
- Contribute to internal network/infrastructure projects, upgrades, and technology transitions
- Implement network designs under the direction of the Infrastructure Lead
- Document troubleshooting steps, configurations, and knowledge articles
- Engage with vendors for escalated network support, procurement, and solution alignment
Monitoring & Maintenance
- Monitor network, access control, and endpoint systems where performance impacts service
- Support regular network patching, firmware updates, and proactive health checks
- Ensure log data, alerts, and health checks are triaged and actioned promptly
- Participate in scheduled maintenance windows affecting network services

Skills and experience:
Essential:
- Experience in network engineering or network support roles
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki networking hardware and dashboard administration
- Experience in an MSP or multi-site enterprise environment
- Cisco CCNA or CompTIA Network+ accreditation or equivalent; highly regarded
- Strong technical expertise in enterprise networking including routing, switching, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT, VPNs, QoS, and wireless optimization
- Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain network changes in production environments
- Proficient in troubleshooting complex network issues across the OSI model
- Familiarity with security best practices in network design and configuration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder engagement
- Proven ability to self-manage workload & priorities effectively to meet deadlines
- Proactive, self-starter approach with a strong desire to identify and resolve root causes
- Strong commitment to continuous learning, with a history of lab work, tinkering, or side projects related to networking
Beneficial:
CCNP accreditation
- Experience supporting or integrating network aspects of CCTV and duress systems such as Meraki Vision, Hikvision, etc.)
- Experience with firewalls and security appliances (Meraki MX, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
- Exposure to IP telephony systems (3CX, Avaya, Microsoft Teams Phone, or similar) Understanding of various project delivery methods, such as ITIL or Agile;
- Familiarity with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence) for documentation and workflow
